To re-index the 3700+ cards of the Programmer's Notebook 2.0 now requires somewhere between 4-6 minutes on a Mac II (6-9 minutes on an SE or Plus), as opposed to the 45 minutes for the original version.
The cross-reference code has also been improved -- a typical cross-reference now might take as few as 10-15 seconds (time depends on the number of items we're searching for).
The Index Card__________________________________________
Index selections are now instantaneous (or nearly so). The script now gets the word you want and the line it's on in the index. We then look at the card and see if it's the right one...if so, we can jump there directly. Otherwise, we fall back on the Find command (like the old script).
The "Add Keywords" button now keeps both the stack and the index in sorted order (assuming the stack was in the correct order to begin with). This should all but eliminate the need for re-indexing.
